WHO IS SHAHAILA ?

Shahaila Winklaar (Zwijndrecht, 1968 of Curaçao and Aruban descent) graduated from the Willem de Kooning Academy in 2008 with drawings with contours of the characteristic posture of powerful people. She takes her inspiration from her rich cultural heritage and in her art refers to old masterpieces by highlighting characteristic, minimal contour lines. She won the second prize at the Annual Dutch Art Fair in the Biennale of Kunst aan de Kade and in 2019.
