Description
Eyasu Sisay
Eyasu Sisay is from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Since a child, Eyasu’s interests has always been in painting and drawing. His earliest memories tied to visual arts come from the time as a student in elementary school with foreign volunteer teachers. This experience later influenced pursuits while studying Heritage Conservation in college and training courses offered by the Russian Cultural Institute. Upon successfully completing the training courses and earning the degree, it was decided that the next natural path would be to pursue art full-time as an artist. When Eyasu’s not in the studio experimenting with new techniques and media, he enjoys working with charities that support the wellbeing of children. Inspired by nature and culture – specifically his country’s origins to coffee production that reaches back as far as the 9th century. He uses art and coffee color splash styles as a form of expression that illustrates the simplicity and complexity of the world around us, love and peace, and the sorrow felt by minorities.
