Description
JOSEPH DENG ACHOM was born in Aweil northern Bahr El Ghazal state of the Republic of South Sudan in 1983.
KANGI JOSEPH was working at the University of Juba as a teaching assistant in the Arts, Music and Drama Department in the field of painting.
KANGI is a graduate of Sudan University for Science and Technology, College of Fine and Applied Arts in 2009.
KANGI has participipated widely in creative arts competitions across Sudan and won an award for the best sculpture artist in January 2010.
Also KANGI and his friends were comnissioned to implement a statue of the late hero Dr John Garang de Mabior in Maban county Upper Nile State of South Sudan in June 2011.
In June 2021 KANGI was commissioned to design and create costumes and stage props for the South Sudan Theatre Company doing Shakepeare’s play Cymbelline.
This international event was performed in Bengalore, India and London’s Globe Theatre in the UK.
He worked as an arts teacher for training immigrants at the Hope Project on Lesvos Island, serving immigrants for one year.
He also participated in a collective exhibition in London in 2020 under the coordination of the Hope Project.
In 2021 his work was part of a group exhibition in Olso, Norway. An exhibit is planned in New York City for May 25, 2023.
