She completed her graduate studies at the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Hacettepe Universityin 2007. She is continuing her doctorate studies and working as a research assistant at the same university.
Considering images detached from their spaces, hence their contexts as rings of a chain to be linked by the audience, Altun prefers casual materials enabling her tocatch the feeling of the “moment”. Forget Me Not Jesus obscurely trying to gather the past and the now are insearch of a hybrid representation triggering irony, fantasy and melancholy. Neither the image of Jesus tells the pastin full, nor the space tells now.
